MULTIDISCIPLINARY ARTIST
Born in 1985, Tal Alperstein lives and works in Tel Aviv, Israel. In 2009, Alperstein completed her BFA studies at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, in Jerusalem, and in 2017 an MA in film studies at the Steve Tisch School of Film and Television- Tel-Aviv University.
Alperstein is a multidisciplinary artist, working with performance and video. At the center of her interest is the encounter between the cinematic and the performative, and the way in which they illuminate or distort each other.
Alperstein has presented her work at exhibitions and festivals. Her last solo exhibition was shown in Liebling haus Tel-Aviv 2022. She traveled with her performances in many exhibitions and festivals for Performance Art, in Israel, Europe, and East Asia such as PAN Asia Festival, Seoul, Korea, and EPAF 'Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw, Poland. She has also participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in venues such as Hamidrasha Gallery and CCA Tel-Aviv and Haifa museum of art.
Her short film Home Movie is the winning film of 2021 at the Videodrunk Festival of Alternative Cinema in Ontario, Canada. Her video works were screened at the Art Biennale in Kaunas Lithuania, at NEXT! Doc-Aviv Festival, and at D’EST Plovdiv Bulgaria.
Nowadays, Alperstein is part of Hamekarer Gallery's artists' Incubator, working on her new work to be presented on June 2023. She received Grants and Awards for her works such as the Pais fund for arts and culture, and the Tel-Aviv municipality fund for special projects in the art. She participated in Residency programs such as Artist and Architect Residency in the contemporary art center of Arad, Israel, and Encounters, between Germany and Israel, for 50 years for diplomatic relations.
